
This is one of my favorite paintings that my dad did. The background is snow peak and it's a place we would drive up to in the late fall when the vine maples are bright red and sometimes there would be a little snow on the ground. It's a peak that is so close to my parent's house that it looks like a mountain. The flowers in the picture are Lupine, Indian Paintbrush, and Bear grass. I was probably five years old when I learned all the names of these flowers from my parents. When most kids were drawing cats and dogs in grade school, I was drawing a red tailed hawk. Being outside and learning about God's creation was one of my favorite memories of my childhood.
