Lessons learned from my kids

I was surprised when I learned communications skills from Trent a couple months ago. I thanked him for sharing his granola bar with his little sis (who adores food) and he responded with a simple, "It was my pleasure." Ugh, how sweet and true. So since then I've been saying, "It was my pleasure" instead of the usual "aww no problem dawg."

Well, today I just learned from my 1 year old a shortcut on my computer. I've used a Mac since I was in high school and I didn't know, til now, how to imitate a PC's left/right click mouse. If you hold down "control" then click on something it gives you more options. Perhaps I should actually go through manuals instead of trying to teach myself things as I go. Or I could just let my kids teach me new things...

My hubby is #1!

This man has come along way! When we were first married he worked and I took care of the household duties and our baby girl. These days, he works 10 hours, comes home, works in the yard, helps with dinner, does the dishes, and then insists on putting the kids to bed. This was the delicious dinner he cooked for my birthday, curry chicken kabobs w/ scallops and mushrooms (which he hates and I love.) Not to mention that he helped me sew those curtains in the background since I apparently can't sew a straight line.

Of Hens and Men

The latest project at the Morgan household is the chicken coop. With the weather being so nice you can often find Farmer Sevan in her overalls working hard outside.

Here's a look at our three hens busy a layin.

The tradition continues

There is no better way to spend your 29th birthday than to shove your way through crowds just to watch your kids run in the Awesome 3000. Right before this pic was taken of Trent he flipped daddy a big ol' peace sign up in the stadium. Tay had been ill with a different kind of runs on this day and 2 days prior but she managed to run in perfect form.
This is my cousin's daughter who also ran. I still remember the days of running with my lil cousins in their fluorescent pink shorts and my teal spandex. Oh those were the days.

Our yearly tulip pics

She is Sevan and She is seven!

Taylor celebrated her seventh birthday with a princess tea party. She asked for cash money from her friends instead of presents so that she could give the money to a first grader from school that is recovering from an illness. We couldn't have been prouder of her decision.

Our "Little one", "Googs", "Sevan Elizabeth", "Sevs" has turned one!

I can't believe she's a year old already. All the names in the title are what the kids call her, and btw Elizabeth is NOT her middle name. We had sooo much fun celebrating her first birthday with her. She learned a new word, balloon, which sounds more like boon. So know she goes into each room points up to the ceiling and says "boon". She even tries to sing happy birthday. We've had a blast watching the world through her eyes this last year. Words can't even describe her, all I know is she is a precious gift from God!
I had fun with decorating the house and making her cake. I've been watching "Ace of Cakes" lately so I got inspired to do a funky fondant cake. My friend Christa gave me this fondant recipe that was made from marshmallows so it was tastier than usual and not messy for the "first bite of cake picture." It was funny to watch her hold the piece of cake in one hand, munch on it, then she politely handed over the fondant.

She got the cutest outfits, shoes, books, and her own toys (instead of hand me downs). You can buy the shoes she got from her aunt Naomi at her website... http://www.bellajades.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=BJB&Product_Code=SS1002&Category_Code=SSL

Here's the update to Trent's new haircut

I added a bunch of his photos on facebook but forgot to put them on here as my follow up to the big day. So, as you see his hair is chopped and styling now. He likes his haircut because he thinks he looks like dad and all the attention he got at church was a lot of fun for him.

I post this picture today because I don't know what the future holds tomorrow. I've got a pretty big appointment scheduled for tomorrow... Trent is getting his hair cut! I'm picturing a short hair cut so we will see if that will work with his hair type. All those who loved his long flowing blonde strands, don't you worry because it can always grow back.

Heather here I come!

I was looking at google today and it told me that the Dead Sea is 6,989 miles away but it wouldn't give me driving directions. They're ridiculous, I know. Then I discovered that to WALK to Medford, OR from good ol Aumsville, OR it would only take me 3 days and 4 hours. So I'd only have to walk a little over 65 miles in a day to get there.
